300,000 tonnes of rubbish a year could soon be processed in Alexandra if a new waste facility is given the go ahead.
Plans for the site on Pinkham Way include a 15,000 square meter building for processing waste, and a depot to be used by an estimated 540 refuse and recycling vehicles each day.
They are being proposed by the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) and Barnet Council.
Haringey Council has put forward the land as part of the North London Waste Plan.
The planning application will be submitted in late spring 2011 to Haringey Council. Residents can then make further comments to those already voiced at public exhibitions held by the NLWA back in February.
If permission is given, the site is expected to start running from summer 2015.
