Time Ticks By For Mast Complaints

Posted on April 20, 2011 by

Time is running out for a group of Alexandra residents who oppose a potential 13.8 meter phone mast being built on their street.

It’s being proposed by the companies O2 and Vodaphone because a small area doesn’t have mobile reception.

The plans for Bedford Road N22 have been refused twice by Haringey Council, so the businesses are appealing to the government to overturn the decisions.

However, local people are worried about the spot because of the narrow, unevenness of the pavement, the restrictions it may cause commuters at peak times, and its proximity to houses and a community centre.

Final complaints have to be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate by the 22nd of April 2011.
